Tuberous Sclerosis Association
About TSA:

The Tuberous Sclerosis Association (TSA) is the only UK-wide charity fully focused on the rare genetic condition Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). For almost 50 years, the TSA has made a huge difference to the TSC community through:

-
Providing support and information on all aspects of TSC, including through the free TSA Support Line and our regular face-to-face and regular events.
-
Funding world-leading research into diagnosis, treatment and management of TSC, including some of the biggest ever breakthroughs in TSC research.
-
Campaigning and advocating UK government, health and social care leaders to ensure that the TSC community gets access to the best support and healthcare possible.
The TSA’s mission remains the same as when we started: To find a cure for TSC. Until then, the TSA continues to work tirelessly for everyone in the TSC community. Thanks to the TSA, no-one is ever alone with TSC.
Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) is a rare genetic condition that affects around 1 million people worldwide.
What is Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC)?

Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) is a rare genetic condition that affects around 1 million people worldwide. Present from birth, TSC causes benign tumours, or growths, to develop in various organs, such as the brain, heart, eyes, and skin. These growths can lead to a range of symptoms, often including epilepsy, autism, learning disabilities, and kidney issues.

TSC affects each person differently, making its impact unique. Estimates suggest that between 3,700 and 11,000 people in the UK are living with TSC, though the condition’s diverse manifestations make accurate numbers difficult to determine.

Thanks to advances in research, our understanding of TSC has improved dramatically in recent years. This has led to better diagnoses, improved treatments, and enhanced support for those living with TSC.
